Manager operational quickstart after onboarding completion

Use the manager lane to run policy requests, team invites, approvals, and training readiness without policy authoring.

Summary

  • Use the manager lane to run policy requests, team invites, approvals, and training readiness without policy authoring.
  • Use this guide to complete the workflow with audit-ready evidence and ownership.
  • If you hit a blocker, run troubleshooting first, then escalate with context.

Steps

  1. 1. Submit policy requests instead of authoring drafts

Managers cannot author policies directly. Open /dashboard/policy-requests and submit a new or revision request; an admin reviews and converts it into a generation job.

  2. 2. Track requests against the SLA clock

Each request shows days open with a warning badge at 3 days, overdue at 5 days, and a breach at 7 days, so you know when to follow up with an admin.

  3. 3. Invite staff within your team

From /dashboard/team, invite Staff or Manager roles once rollout is unlocked. Only admins can invite other admins.

  4. 4. Monitor approvals and training readiness

Use /dashboard/approvals to see what is waiting on a decision and /dashboard/training to track day-0 completion for your invited team.

Verification

  • A submitted request appears in Open and recent requests with the correct requested category.
  • The SLA badge matches how many days the request has been open.
  • Invited team members show up in /dashboard/team with the expected role.

Troubleshooting

The policy-requests page says access is restricted.

Policy requests are available to manager and admin roles only. Staff accounts cannot submit or view this page.

A request has been open for a week with no decision.

That crosses the 7-day breach threshold. Follow up directly with an org admin; requests do not auto-convert without a reviewer decision.
