Generate AI training module drafts with approval controls
Create draft training modules from policy context, then require admin approval before publish.
Generation runs in the background
Generate training answers straight away and the package is written in the background, usually within a few minutes. You can leave the page; the module page updates by itself when the run finishes.
A stopped run is retried, not started again
If a run stops part-way (for example during a platform update) or fails with a retryable error, open the module and choose Retry generation. It reruns the same package; starting a new one for the same policy and level is refused while that run is open.

Steps
1. Pick a published policy and a level
On /dashboard/training/modules, choose the policy and a level (Overview, Basic or Comprehensive), then Generate training. Comprehensive needs a plan with advanced training, and illustrations need Professional or above; both count towards your AI budget.
2. Let the run finish in the background
The package appears in the list straight away and is filled in by the run. Only one run per policy and level can be open at a time; asking again points you at the module that is already being generated.
3. Retry or resume a run that did not finish
The module page says "This run stopped" or "Generation failed" with Retry generation, or "Generation is waiting" with Resume generation (for example after a platform-wide AI pause, or once missing organisation details are added). Retry and resume check your plan, your AI budget and the run’s own spending limit again before anything is spent.
4. Approve before deploying
A finished package needs both Approve training and Approve policy alignment on the module page before it is ready to deploy to staff. A run that has not finished with content cannot be approved.
Verification
- The module page shows the run as finished, with content, before either approval is offered.
- A stopped or failed run shows Retry generation rather than sitting in progress.
- Both approvals are recorded before the package is deployed to staff.
Troubleshooting
Generate training says a package for this policy is already being generated.
Open the existing module from the link in the message. If its run stopped or is waiting, use Retry generation or Resume generation there instead of starting another.
Retry generation is refused.
The message says why: platform AI is paused, your organisation’s monthly AI budget is used up, the run has reached its own spending limit (start a new generation instead), or your plan no longer includes the level or the illustrations the package asked for.
